Buyers Club
How to Buy & Sell
For Buyers
Buying
How do I buy something I’ve seen?
Every lot has a Register Interest button. Send your details and a private client advisor responds personally — usually within the hour — with full particulars, condition, provenance and next steps. Nothing is committed by enquiring.
Can I make an offer below the asking price?
Yes. Most lots accept offers — use Make an Offer on the listing. It costs nothing to send, we put it to the seller on your behalf, and we come back to you either way.
Why do some lots show “Price on application”?
The rarest pieces — certain hypercars and privately-held works — are placed by private treaty. The figure is shared on enquiry, under discretion.
What does “net” mean on the car prices?
Where a car is quoted net, the figure is the trade price excluding VAT. Where VAT is included this is stated on the listing. Your advisor will confirm the all-in figure for your jurisdiction and the exact cost of export or registration.
How does payment work?
For most acquisitions we hold funds in secure escrow and release them to the seller on completion. Smaller Buyers Club pieces can be secured with a deposit and the balance paid on delivery. Everything is documented from first contact to hand-over.
Do you arrange delivery, inspection and viewings?
Yes — independent inspection, viewings, transport, shipping, registration and, for cars and yachts, delivery to your address or berth. It is arranged as part of the sale.
How does fractional ownership work?
A fractional lot — a share in a residence such as 47 Park Street, or in a yacht — gives you defined use each year for a fraction of the capital, with running costs shared. The precise mechanics (weeks, tenure, fees) are set out on each listing.

Selling
How do I sell through Avory Astoria?
Start on the Sell page or send an enquiry with a few photographs and any provenance. We value it, agree a simple consignment, present it properly and place it with our private client base. You approve every offer.
What do you charge?
There are no listing fees. We are paid a commission only on a successful sale, agreed with you in advance and set out plainly in the consignment terms.
Can I sell privately, without it being public?
Yes. Anything can be handled under Private Sales — shown only to matched clients and by direct introduction, with your identity kept confidential throughout.
How long does it take?
It depends on the piece and the price. We will give you an honest view of demand and timeframe at valuation, and keep you updated throughout the mandate.
