Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI

The car. A 1996 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI built to class D1 DTM rules, in red with its Spielfilm livery. It has a single seat. A 2,498 cc four-valve V6, mounted lengthways at the front with dry-sump lubrication, produces 420 hp at 11,800 rpm and 294 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Drive goes to all four wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The car weighs 1,100 kg and is described as in original condition.

The model. After winning the Italian Superturismo Championship in 1992, Alfa Romeo built the 155 V6 TI for the German DTM, whose rules allowed heavily modified versions of production cars. The V6 was turned to sit lengthways to allow four-wheel drive, with torque split 33% front and 67% rear, and the body was made of carbon fibre. The 155 V6 TI won 12 of 20 races in the 1993 DTM and 38 races over its DTM career, with drivers including Larini and Nannini. Giancarlo Fisichella also raced it in the ITC, and his name is on this car's seat and doors.
