Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint

The car. A 1955 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint in red with a red and grey interior. It was built on 21 February 1955, one of the first made, and because important changes followed the first few chassis it is regarded as a pre-series car. A 1,290 cc four-cylinder with a twin-choke carburettor produces 65 hp at 6,000 rpm through a 4-speed manual gearbox, and the car weighs 850 kg unladen. The Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo register certifies that the engine is original and matching numbers.

History. The first owner, the Milanese amateur racer Agostino Di Stefano, bought the car new and entered it in the 1955 Mille Miglia as number 233. He finished 130th overall and 13th in class after 15 hours, 32 minutes and 46 seconds on the 1,624 km course. The car was later neglected, found in a barn in 2016 and fully restored. It ran the Mille Miglia again in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and won the 2026 Mille Miglia Warm Up. It is on the 'Automotive Masterpieces' list, appears in the Mille Miglia's Chassis Volume II, and is eligible for the race today.
