Borgo Finocchieto

Borgo Finocchieto is an entire medieval hamlet, eight hundred years old, restored into one of the most exclusive private estates in Tuscany. It sits on a hilltop south of Siena, close to Montalcino in the Brunello di Montalcino growing district, surrounded on every side by vineyards and rolling green hills.

Five villas share six acres, linked by stone courtyards and gardens. Inside, arched rooms and tall French windows hold period furnishings and one-of-a-kind pieces; each villa has its own dining room opening onto stone terraces for meals in the open air, while the main villa can seat the entire party of up to forty-four. A wine cellar, library, gym, sauna and indoor hot tub sit among the shared amenities.

The grounds carry a tennis court, bocce court and an immaculate pool, with lantern-lit dinners and sunset wine on the terraces as the daily rhythm. For a landmark family gathering or a full celebration in wine country, very little in Italy compares.
