No. 5 Maddox Street sits in the middle of Mayfair, a few minutes on foot from Bond Street, Regent Street and the edge of Soho. It is a house rather than a hotel — a set of private residences at a single Mayfair address, each furnished with collectable mid-century pieces, vintage handwoven Moroccan rugs and archive photographic prints of Soho's rock and roll years. The look holds from the smallest apartment to the largest, and the scale throughout is domestic rather than corporate.
Each residence is self-contained, with its own sitting room, kitchen and bathroom, so a stay here runs to your hours rather than a hotel's. There is no lift in the building, which is worth knowing before you arrive; in exchange, Mayfair's shops, galleries and restaurants begin at the door. Stays are arranged with us directly — tell us your dates and the size of your party, and we will tell you which residence fits and what it costs.
The residences range from a 280 sq ft one-bedroom to an 850 sq ft three-bedroom with two planted patios and air conditioning, sleeping two to six. Two lofts crown the house: one with its principal bedroom on a mezzanine, the other with a planted terrace and outdoor seating, both looking out across the surrounding rooftops. Below them, the one- and two-bedroom apartments differ in shape and character, with working fireplaces, decked balconies and open-plan kitchens among them.
