The car. A 1986 Ford RS200 in white with a red and black interior. The car shows 2,000 km, about 1,200 miles, and is left-hand drive. The mid-mounted 1.8-litre turbocharged Ford-Cosworth BDT engine produces 247 hp at 6,500 rpm and 290 Nm at 4,500 rpm, driving all four wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. This car has the optional two- and four-wheel-drive locking differentials, worked by a second, smaller lever beside the gear lever.
The model. Ford Motorsport built the RS200 at Boreham from 1984 to 1986. The road car was the basis for Ford's Group B rally car and was built to meet the FIA's homologation rules.
History. Ford kept this car until December 1988 and used it now and then for promotional work, including photographs in Fast Ford magazine. It then passed to a private owner in Colorado. It still carries its original 'Cold Start Procedure' sticker on the windscreen.
How the sale works. The car is in Switzerland and is offered through Avory Astoria; we are not the seller. The price, chassis details and documents are shared with serious buyers on enquiry, and viewings are by appointment.
