One of Basquiat's monumental late canvases, Spain (1985) rises to nearly seven feet — a windmill motif set against a field of collaged text and silkscreen over a raw, worked ground. It belongs to the pivotal period of the artist's experimentation with image, language and reproduction.
Signed and titled "Spain 1985" on the verso. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from the Authentication Committee of the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat, signed by Gerard Basquiat on 9 October 2008.
