A commanding text painting from 1987, The Whole Livery Line sets Basquiat's hand-lettered poetry — "THE WHOLE LIVERY LINE BOW LIKE THIS WITH THE BIG MONEY ALL CRUSHED INTO THESE FEET" — against a charged field of cadmium yellow. Acrylic and oil stick on canvas.

Signed, titled and dated on the reverse '87. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from the Authentication Committee of the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat, signed by Gerard Basquiat on 22 April 2004.
